Yes, all appointments and sessions at Równoważni MED are chargeable. This applies to medical appointments (child and adolescent psychiatrist), therapeutic appointments (psychologist, psychotherapist), diagnostic consultations for ADHD or autism spectrum, speech and language therapy, SI therapy and group sessions.The current price list is available in the "Pricing" section of our website. For the first appointment with your child at Równoważni MED, it is worth bringing:medical documentation, if the child has previously been assessed or treated (test results, hospital discharge summaries, medical records, a list of current medications),a report from nursery or school — particularly if difficulties with functioning, learning or behaviour have been noted,comfortable clothing for the child, especially if a sensory integration (SI) assessment, physiotherapy or movement-based activities are planned — clothing should not restrict movement.For diagnostic consultations for ADHD or autism spectrum, previous specialist reports and any questionnaires we send ahead of the appointment may also be helpful. No. A child and adolescent psychiatrist does not always prescribe medication. The decision to begin pharmacotherapy is made only when:symptoms are severe,they significantly interfere with the child's everyday functioning,other forms of support (e.g. therapy, changes in the environment) are insufficient.Sometimes the doctor initially proposes observation, psychological therapy or changes to the organisation of the child's day, without introducing medication.
At Równoważni MED we prioritise a team-based approach. This means that:the psychiatrist collaborates with the psychologist, psychotherapist, speech and language therapist or SI therapist,we discuss therapy goals and the child's progress together (in accordance with confidentiality principles),with parental consent, we can pass on recommendations to the school or nursery to support the child's functioning.This approach helps to better match the support to the child's needs at home, in the consulting room and in the school environment.
Yes, information obtained during an appointment with a child and adolescent psychiatrist is covered by medical confidentiality. Without the consent of parents or legal guardians (and in the case of older adolescents — also the patient themselves), the psychiatrist:may only act to protect the health or life of the child in exceptional circumstances (in accordance with the law),does not share detailed information with the school, nursery or other institutions.If a certificate or report is needed for school, its content is discussed in advance with the parent and often with the adolescent as well.
